CHICAGO–Rodney East is a gifted and highly sought after keyboard player, who’s accompanied some of the biggest stars in the music industry.
Rodney, a native of Chicago, Illinois and the son of a Church of God In Christ (“C.O.G.I.C.”) elder, has tinkled the ivories for such industry heavyweights as Yolanda Adams, Marvin Sapp, The Isley Brothers and R. Kelly, just to name a few.
Recently, The Four-One-One was contacted by an R. Kelly insider, who told us about a disturbing incident, in which Rodney was brutally assaulted by the R&B superstar at his mansion during a pick-up game of basketball.
According to our source, Rodney was playing good defense on Kelly, which frustrated the embattled singer enough for him to reach back and bust Rodney smack-dab in the face with his fist. Rodney was rushed to a nearby hospital and treated for eight stitches.
Even more disconcerting, our source told us Kelly was taunting Rodney while he was still down and bloody, calling him a “punk bitch.” The source said the blow to Rodney’s face was vicious and totally unexpected.
Despite getting sucker punched and treated like one of R. Kelly’s sex cult females, Rodney was recently seen on a Facebook video touting how wonderful it’s been to serve under R. Kelly for almost 20 years. There are starstruck, female fans of Kelly’s, who wouldn’t let him get away with that.
Somebody needs to pull Rodney’s coattail and tell him that playing for a known pedophile and sex cult leader is not the most ideal subject for bragging rights–especially when the subject busted you in the face and caused you to have stitches.
Our source believe Rodney’s beat down by Kelly could be a divine warning from God for Rodney to stop cheating on his wife when he’s touring with artist on the road. Our source told us Rodney is a womanizer/adulterer who has sex with various women in cities all across the country while his wife is at home with his children.
Even if you don’t see it as spiritual karma, there’s no way Rodney should still be playing for R. Kelly. I don’t care how much money he has. .
Maybe the next time Kelly gets the urge to assault Rodney, he might actually knock some sense in his head.
